Avalon Beach Bowling Club is situated on Bowling Green Lane, just behind the RSL club.
The club was built in 1961 and retains much of its original charm and character. The club is a hidden secret, has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is ideally located for a quiet ale or two, on those balmy northern beach’s evenings. To read more history click here.
The club incorporates 3 sporting clubs, lawn bowls, petanque and croquet. Starting as a bowling Club for Men and Women, Avalon now boasts Croquet and Petanque (the French game of boules) members and regular social and competition days as well as yearly pennant and invitation competitions.
The Club has really hits it’s straps since the turn of the century with a number of District and Zone wins by the bowling teams as well as many individual honours but we are always keen to have new members don the Club’s colours to represent Avalon.
All visitors are welcome and we invite any relishing a sporting challenge to have a go at bowls, croquet or petanque.
We are fully licensed and available for functions and BBQs. For enquiries to book the club, or for a game of barefoot bowls please call 02 9918 3231.

Christina Crofts –(Brief Bio)
Christina Crofts –(Brief Bio)
In the mid 1990’s she formed ‘Croftstown Traffic’ – a three piece blues/rock covers band, which later become ‘Croftstown’ with the addition of Steve on guitar following the end of his other musical commitments. ‘Croftstown’ enjoyed several years of gigging around Sydney releasing the Croftstown ‘Unboogie’ album in 2006.
Croftstown was eventually shelved due to the impact of Huntington’s Disease on Steve and his declining ability to play guitar.
In 2008 despite actually having no band as such and largely due to the insistence of Steve, Christina released her own debut album ‘Midnight Train’.
Consisting of 9 original tracks this album received great reviews and saw her embark on a new phase of her music career.
Christina continues to play regularly in Sydney, Newcastle and Central Coast, and has performed on several festivals including Thredbo Blues Festival (2011 & 2015) Mitchell Creek Rock ‘n Blues Festival (2015) Narooma Blues Festival (2000 and 2013) and Bimbadgen (2008).
The first track ‘Breakaway’ from her long awaited EP has debuted at number 1 in the AMRAP regional charts.
